BusMan – Amazon Robots
Amazon a big business that allows people to sell their products on their website to people all over the world. They buy the products from the individual seller and then sell it for more to the individual customer.
Amazon grew very fast and now it has over 1.2 square foot warehouse which is a lot of space that has to be covered by the workers especially at Christmas time. This is why 2012 amazon bought wheeled robots from Kiva Systems for 775 Million[1]. Since amazon bought these robots they have outfitted several U.S warehouse because those robots work by them self’s for 24 hours and they know exactly where those products are. Not like other companies that have workers who have to search for specific products along huge aisles.
These robots made a change for the company and the customers because they are able to get their products faster- Amazon has a technological advantage and this is why they have become such a fast growing and successful company. These robots are a new invention that helps the general public and they also show other companies how to change so they can become more successful. The machines are globalisating companies all over the world by showing different ways of doing something. Because of these machines workers do not have to work as hard and therefore they complete their work more carefully and with better quality. There is a lot of stress in these types of companies and this especially at Christmas time because a lot of people oder things. By buying these robots amazon is supporting technological companies that help developing the world which lead to a change to the world.
Amazon became one of the leading companies because it used lots of strategies to deliver the product faster to the individual customer by using the wheeled roboters.
It is also ethically nice of amazon to buy the roboters because their workers will have to work less which is always ethically right.

Kit-Kat Marketing strategy
Kit-Kat is one of the most
influential candy bars. It is rated top 13 in the whole world, this is because
Kit-Kat used be a social candy bar because it was made for sharing. The
marketing sector decided to make the candy bar into two half’s to make sharing
even easier.
Kit-Kat was the first candy
bar to trade globally, starting in the US, Europe and then later Asia and
Australia.
Although Kit-Kat was very
good at marketing and selling the product globally they still had a group of
people that were protesting against Kit-Kats environmental issues. This is when
Kit-Kat faced a time of depression because people stopped buying their product.
This is when Kit-Kat had to change their style of production. The two-finger Kit-Kat has become the second most popular fair-trade
product in the UK, providing an income for thousands more farmers in Ivory
Coast, where more than 40% of the world's cocoa is produced[1]. This
made a huge change for the company and the farmers. Since then people stopped
protesting against Kit-Kat and they became famous again.
Kit-Kat has a good marketing sector because
they full filled their dream of being one of the top leading global
confectionery brand.
The big company Sony named their
operating system Kit-Kit because they paid Sony a big amount of money but now
they are even becoming famous in the technology market.
Kit-Kat has its attractive and unique
packaging that you will remember forever. It has its fair-trade sign at the top
of the package for everyone to see so even environmental friendly people will
buy their product. Recently Kit-Kat changed their advertisement from being a
social candy bar to a candy bar for small breaks. In their advertisements they
show how a person is stressed because of his workload this is why he takes his
Kit-Kat and has a small but good break and then he can finish the work easily.
Also the Kit-Kat bar is produced in a way that it looks like a pause sign.

Work Experience - Bilfinger Hochbau

Bilfinger Hochbau - Work experience
My work placement was at the Bilfinger Hochbau which is a building company. It existed since 1974 and is now a multinational company which earns 8 billion a year. The company leipzig earns up to a Million Euros a week. On the first day we learned that the company works with about 60 different companies to complete building a house this is becuase Bilfinger does not provide this particular service. The workers from the different companies have a singned contract with Bilfinger to protect the workers and the company. This is an unique part of Bilfinger because it gathers people who are the best at their job so they can make the best house possible. The aim is to provide quick multinational service, quality engineering that will last long while also ensuring its eco friendly and efficient. The companies foundation is in Germany but is has expanded throughout the world. A significant amount is still Germany (38%) and the main part is in Europe (48%). In America there is only 12% and in Asia and Afrika 4% and 3 %. All around the world the objective of Bilfinger is to help customer with complex problems and to be the best partner who tries to provide the best possible materials.
Bilfinger does not only build houses it also provides a service to companies which helps them to keep their machines clean and working. The workers are hired by Bilfinger but work for a different company that makes sure everything works and that there are no complains. For example the machines at BMW which are used everyday to produce cars are looked after by the Bilfinger company.
Bilfinger has a total of 70.000 workers and most of them work in the Industrial sector (35.000) while there are only 13.000 people working in the energy sector and 22.000 in the construction sector.
If you have so many workers they have to be motivated and encouraged to do quality work and also having a huge company can increase communication problems. Bilfinger motivates their worker by giving them a higher salary if their project is well done. Bilfinger also has weekly sport competitions to keep the workers active and motivated.
Bilfinger works with the government and also works for private people (Public Private Partnership)
The workers at Bilfinger who work at construction sites have helmets and special shoes to protect themselves against injuries although they have an insurance. Every week there are test made by people to look if everything meets the standards at the construction site to keep everyone including the workers safe. There are safety boards and sheets all around the construction site to warn and instruct the workers what to do incase of a e.g fire alarm.
Bilfinger uses a lot of materials that are efficient but also economically friendly so the materials can be recycled and therefore not damage the enviroment.
I liked the Work experience at Bilfinger and I think they are nice company because no matter what age you are they treat you the same as everyone else

BMW Vision is to have individuality so every single customer can put together their own car. BMW offers 10^16 extras which you can use to put together your car and how you want it. BMW whole building has cost over 1.2 billion euros. BMW uses machines most of the time for the car production because they are less than 0.1 mm accurate and they work non-stop. The machines need no motivation and they do not need any breaks. When the workers have a break the machines are still working. Worker are needed to repair the machines because the caps or "arms" of the machines have to be changed every 2 hours. BMW uses 90% machines for its production which means that the BMW cars are high quality and very precise. This also means that they use up a lot of electricity which is bad for the environment.BMW is very environment friendly this is why they uses a huge amount of wind energy for the machines and general electricity of all BMW buildings but this can be a external problem because if there is not enough wind there will be less energy for the company. This is where BMW is different from most car manufacturing companies. BMW also recycles the water and paint used when manufacturing the car. The new BMW i series, which became unexpectedly famous and highly requested, are one of the most environmental friendly cars. From begin of the production until the end of the production everything is Eco friendly. The material they used to pollster the car is made from a plant (hampf) which is an ecological renewable, the same counts for other materials they used inside the car. BMW used carbon for the frame of the car instead of steel which is a lot lighter which therefore needs less energy to drive. The car itself has a very complex but environmental friendly engine. The engine can almost be charged everywhere and it only uses electricity which is also regenerated when breaking. People say that BMWs new electro cars have changed and developed the car manufacturing of today.
BMW motivates it's workers by an open and large work area. BMW provides table tennis, kicker and a Wii for the workers to keep them active and motivated. BMW also offers a gym which can be used after work to keep their workers fit and happy. BMW work space is very open so the workers can see what everybody is doing and so every worker can enter and talk with the worker when ever they want. Even the people with a higher position job have the same working place and the same space as every other worker, to show that nobody is better and deserves more. The cafeteria is huge and open so while having break everybody is able to sit with their friends even though they work in different buildings.
When I asked the manager of BMW what their vision is and how close their are to their vision he said that their vision or aim always changes because they keep on adding more to their vision to achieve the best car for their customers.
The health and safety is outstanding in BMW, every worker has its own special working clothes that protects them from any danger. Their shoes have a metal coating so it will protect their feet from falling objects, their jackets are made from a material which is heat resistant and sharp objects cannot pass through.
BMW even has it's own health section where workers can go to for free and doctors can help to become healthy again. I asked the workers at BMW how they really like their job and what is bad bad about it they always answered that their job is a lot of fun and it is very interesting, the only bad thing that they told me was that the BMW factory is far away and transport is not too good.
BMW has a lot of different departments which include: manufacturing, painting and many more. The buildings have a finger structure which is more efficient and affective. With this strategy you can make "fingers" longer easily and it is a lot easier for trucks to deliver materials. BMW is organized is such a way that every piece is delivered as soon they are working on a particular car, therefore the slogan "just in just in sequence"
BMW grow a lot of apple trees where they regularly make apple juice from for the workers. There is an extra building for the "azubis" where they can learn how to use special types of material and equipment. BMW provides cars and old motors for the learning workers so they can experiment and try to repair it. Regularly the learning workers get tasks from the employed workers, such as making drink holders with magnets so they can drink while working. It is really nice to see all the workers or learning workers are helping each other so they all keep motivated and happy. The company provides or sells high class and high quality cars for family and racing.
I have gather a lot of experience because now i know how the inside of an business looks like and what jobs people have and how they are treated, i think it will definitely help me a lot in life.

Samsung announced on Monday that they that its third quarter earnings will be lower than expected. Samsung claims to reduce the average selling price (ASP) of their smartphones because of competing companies. This means that samsung will only make just under 4 billion instead of 4.1 trillion, this is 60% less than last year.
This is what Samsung claimed to do last year because of all the competing tablet and smartphone sellers that sell a similar products for cheaper.
A new company named Xiaomi will open soon in china which will sell high end products like Samsung but they will costs about half as much as Samsung's best phones.
Other companies like Apple are a huge competition for Samsung, Apple has released its new products (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) which offers a bigger screen than all of the other Samsung phones.
Samsung is releasing its new Tablet (5.7-inch Galaxy Note 4) in the U.S which will have to compete against the new iPhone 6 Plus with an 5.5-inch screen which already has stellar reviews.
China will be an especially tough place for Samsung to compete. Interest for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is through the roof. And China is where many of those cheaper Android phones are sold. Samsung has to be cut the prices of its devices to compete with other companies.

Apple is planning to earn 9 million dollars on the releasing day of the IPhone 6, analysts predict sales from 7 million to 15 million dollars for the opening weekend. The IPhone 5S and 5C in comparison made 9 million dollars in the opening weekend, which was in September. Walter Piecyk of BTIG predicts that apple will sell more than 10 Million IPhones and he says "We suspect that first weekend sales have more to do with Apple’s ability to ramp manufacturing than it does the end market demand" which means that the more apple produces the more money they will make because people will buy almost all iPhone 6. Since apple customers have such a high request of their new product the developing countries, where the iPhone is build, earn more money because they are mass producing the new product which is then also directly sold. The worker and the factory earn more money and also the government therefore the country can invest more money in developing the countries infrastructure. The workers can afford to pay for school for their children and in future they are able to get a skilled job which will help the country even more. The new iPhone 6 has a lot to do with globalization and change. Apple has released two new phones which attract and targets even more people, Apple usually just come out with one new product but this time they changed it and this is why they made such a huge profit in 24 h. Not everything is good about the new iPhone because the iPhone is made in poorer countries where the workers or employees are paid a really low budget snd have to work in cruel conditions, i know i said that the workers earn more money now but this only counts when a new product is released because there is s higher public demand. Is it ethically right to let the workers work in horrible conditions? On one side it is but on the other side it is not because how else would these people earn money for their families.

Apple's new phone is one of the most developed on the market which also rises a competition in technology. Apple has innovated a new product which they have worked on for years, they have increased the size of the display and also made it 55% faster and more efficient than the current iPhone 5S. They are offering 2 phones which have different sizes and they are both targeted to 2 different kind of people; the ones who like it compact and easy and the others who like it big and who like a clear over view. Apple did this to target as many people as possible so they can maximize their income and attract even more people. Apple has changed the display, touch and changed the buttons around to take a risk and try something new and obviously it has worked because they have achieved their income goal in 24 h.

A week ago a Youtube Star (Connor Franta) used Youtube to raise over $75,000 for Charity called "The Thirst Project". Connor, who has 3 million fans, talked with a business insider and decided to use his fans to raise the Money. He set up a chart where everyone who would donate will win something depending on how much they donate. For example the people who would donate $1000 would get a private Skype call with Connor. The campaign The Thirst Project builds wells for people who have no access to water in Swaziland. I think this is ethically right because he uses his Fame and fans to do good to people who do not even have access to water. People like Connor Franta (who are very innovative) want to change the world by using what he has, I think that a lot of people could learn from him and other people with a lot of fans should also try to raise money for charity. The culture in Swaziland is different from the Culture that we know, having no access to water in our culture is very rare but in countries such as Swaziland this is very common and he knows this. By using Strategy Connor is able to develop specific countries in need by also using globalization.

"This number is predicted to increase in the following few months because winter is coming up" Theodore Karasik (director of research). Main part of the oil is stolen from huge oil companies and then sold to other Islamic states for a really cheap price. Stealing oil or resources from companies and selling them from cheap is ethically not right and it is not legally right. The ISIS uses strategies to make money and to improve the standards of their country.
